Why we're fighting Moms for Liberty
Moms for Liberty-aligned candidates have already secured a few seats on the Williamson County School Board, when only 18% of registered voters showed up to the 2022 local election.
The majority is now at stake - and with a new Superintendent search on the line - we're at defcon 1 with making sure pragmatic, levelheaded and NOT nationally-coordinated extremist groups are at the helm of our local schools.

The easiest way to understand the damage that Moms for Liberty does as a part of its mission to weaken and defund public education in America is to see real life stories across the country. We've been ground zero for a few of them during the initial 2021 launch when the local chapter was book banning crazy, but there are plenty of others to see what's at stake.
Knoxville, TN

South Carolina
"On Tuesday evening, the Berkeley County School District in South Carolina swore in the board members who were elected last week, six of whom were endorsed by the conservative activist group Moms for Liberty.
Within two hours, the school board had voted to fire the district’s first Black superintendent, terminate the district’s lawyer, ban critical race theory and set up a committee to decide whether certain books and materials should be banned from schools." Read More
Iowa
In 2023 local elections, Iowans across the state pushed back on far-right candidates who wanted to censor books and curriculum. "Iowans want our teachers to feel supported, that we respect what they do, and we trust them,” Anderson said. “And that they would sort of like to get back to normal.” Read more.
Kansas City, MO
The Kansas City public library system staff has created a published list of books that Moms for Liberty is trying to ban. The attacks by MFL on librarians in our schools and libraries is in direct conflict with First Amendment rights and constitutional law.
New York
The battle over 5 books began in early 2023 with a formal request with the school board to have books removed from the Clyde-Savannah Junior/Senior High School library. A committee appointed by the board reviewed the books and found them to be perfectly acceptable, according to the petition. But when pressure increased, the board yanked the books anyway.
